Indiana is no stranger to its festivals celebrating the succulent cured temptress that is bacon. Entering its fifth year, the simply named Bacon Fest isn’t the only bacon festival that takes place in the state, it isn’t even the only Bacon Fest that takes place in the city. What sets the festival apart is that it takes place in January, a time when people are most likely to go out and enjoy some salty bacon to fight off those Indiana winter blues.

In 2019, Bacon Fest takes place on January 26th downtown in The Pavilion at Pan Am. Entry to the festival costs $20, but if you are a fan of the bacon but are not a fan of the crowds $55 can net you early access to the event and your own private VIP section to enjoy all the event has to offer.

Admission also gets you certain food tickets, the simple admission comes with four food tickets and the VIP ticket nets you six tickets that get you free dishes from all the various bacon providers inside. From a giant pile of simple bacon to more flavorful offerings from different cures all the way to chocolate-covered bacon for dessert. You will have a wide variety of offerings available, but always remember – all things in moderation.

However, this is a festival where you need to leave the young ones at home. Certainly they would love to sample all things good bacon too, but it is just not in the cards for this festival. You need to be 21 years old to enter due to the collection of craft beers and the several open bars at the venue. Everyone knows that bacon goes best with a little refreshment, so this festival has to remain strictly adult’s only.
