If your upper dish rack is getting harder and harder to slide out, replace the rails. These can become crooked or bent over time. Order replacement part #00669255 for a pair of rails that fit in your Bosch dishwasher. Then unplug your dishwasher and follow these installations steps:

1 Remove the old rails.

Open the dishwasher and slide the upper dish rack out. Next, lift it up off the rails to remove it entirely. Set the upper dish rack aside.

Next, remove the plastic cap off the back of the broken rail. To remove it, all you have to do is twist the top towards the middle of the dishwasher and then pull the rest of the part free. Set it aside and then pull the rail out of the dishwasher.

2. Install the new rail.

Before you install the new rail, pull the end cap off the railing by prying it free with your hand. Orient the rail so the smooth side is facing the far wall of the dishwasher and the front cap’s hook is facing upward. Slide the rails on the rollers so the rollers fit between the hooked horizontal edges of the metal. Push it all the way in and make sure it hooks smoothly onto both rollers.

Then reach inside and snap the end back into place by reversing the steps to remove it.

If just one of your rails is broken, you can just replace the broken one. But the rails come in groups of two, and replacing both can keep the parts better aligned.

3. Reinstall the upper dish rack.

The dish rack has three wheels that need to fit onto the rails on either side. Hook the furthest back wheels over the front end cap and then slide the rack along the rail as you lower it to a flat position. You may have to raise it slightly again to get the last wheels over the front hooks.

Then push the rack all the way it and shut the door.
